Adolf Loos was one of the most influential Austrian architects and theoreticians. Living in a period in which living traditions were dissolving through the new divisions of labor, he reflected on ways to keep or reinvent them in architecture and design. He was extremely interested in the new views on the body that emerged in Austrian culture, through his friend Peter Altenberg, but also through one of his partners, the dancer Elsie Altmann Loos and his obsession for Josephine Baker.
